dazzling Muslim scholars named Yasmin Mogahed, has a special place in my heart
because I understood a great deal about myself and my character when I read it.
Sometimes, I get up in the morning and observe the person before me in the
mirror.
I
see that this person is a lady. This person is me. I am alive, I am relaxing. I
am solid and today, I have yet another opportunity to make the best of what I
have. I have an opportunity to really demonstrate my value to myself. Out of
appreciation for the International Women's Day of 2017, I need to accept the
open door to characterize my definition and experience of being a woman .

As
a young lady, I always needed to grow up as a strong autonomous lady. My
meaning of freedom was a misconception, an illusion, a false notion. I always
trusted that the meaning of being a lady was associated with the idea of being
"equivalent" to men, having the same "equivalent" rights as
men. I don't altogether reprimand myself because we are always exposed to this
misconception. In all actuality, it was never an opposition in the first place.

Being
a third-year Undergraduate Student at York University pursuing a degree in
Social Science and Gender and Women Studies, I have had the benefit to clear a
great deal of my concepts about being "equivalent" to men VS being
really fought with your destiny (your way of life as a lady). I don't have any
feminist thoughts because I would prefer not to be whatever else besides a
lady, nor would I be able to think about a superior commitment to society than

Being
autonomous does not, at all, imply that you must be "equivalent" to
men. It is impossible to be equivalent to men because we are organically not
the same as them. Numerous women gasp at this so-called "harsh"
reality yet as a self evident truth, it is men being not quite the same as
women as well as women being unique in relation to women. For instance, a
pregnant woman has certain rights and privileges that a non-pregnant lady does
not (such as maternity leave). Thusly, women are dealt with distinctively
relying upon their consequences, conditions, and scenarios. Autonomy means
having the privilege to think openly and having the privilege to characterize

I
grew up with the school of felt that a lady is known by how she raises a family
- that does not at all mean she is just limited to the private sphere of life.
I was raised by a man and a father who never at any point made me feel like he
required a son or a male figure in the house. Besides, I am distanced and
oblivious to the idea of not having the same rights and privileges as a
non-Muslim and non-Pakistani lady. Indeed, my parents have urged me to grow my
insight, given me the best training, given me the best facilities, have always
been compassionate, cherishing, and minding. I can gladly say I was exposed to
both general society and the private realms of life. I might want to share a
couple words of wisdom that were given to me by the most excellent lady on
Earth, my mom, my mi.
